Human Resources Manager

Nordic Cold Chain Solutions– Hatfield, PA

ABOUT THE JOB:

Nordic Cold Chain Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join our team. If you love manufacturing and the variety of all the different responsibilities of an HR role in a fast-paced environment this may be the position for you!

We are looking for an individual who is dependable, resourceful, and self-motivated to be able to handle HR for our hourly staff in our 6 manufacturing facilities – PA, KY, FL, NE, NV, and TX.

The candidate should have great organization and communication skills to deal with dynamic and changing situations in our busy work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for hourly open positions; collaborates with Plant Managers and Supervisors to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Conducts or acquires drug and background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
• Conducts new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
• Administers the company hourly payroll ensuring compliance with federal, state, local and industry regulations, and requirements.
• Enters information for new hires and payroll changes into Paylocity HRIS.
• Administers employee health and welfare plans for hourly employees, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and invoice reconciliation.
• Collects and compiles key HR metrics and data from a variety of internal sources such as HRIS and payroll outputs, benefits enrollments, employee surveys, etc. Coordinates and analyzes data and statistics for monthly HR reports and patterns in the following areas but not limited to headcount, turnover, absenteeism, short and long term leave use, recruitment, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
• Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors relating to hourly employees, working closely with the Director of HR for complex and/or sensitive matters. Facilitates resolutions of benefits-related issues for hourly staff through Benefits Brokers.
• Promotes operational change by fostering improved departmental communication and accountability procedures and systems.
• Assists with the coordination of company-sponsored employee events and activities.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills and Abilities required:

• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the company effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability to deal with dynamic and changing situations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations and Human Resources procedures and policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Experience with payroll, HRIS and application tracking systems. Experience with Paylocity a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited university in Human Resources, organizational development, or relevant business experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ human resources’ generalist experience, preferably in a multi-site, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SP certification preferred.
• Recruiting and hiring experience required.
• Previous experience using and maintaining Payroll, HRIS and ATS systems, preferably Paylocity.
• At least 2 years’ experience with calculating and managing payroll and time and attendance functions
